Melon Alina
A white-fleshed hybrid netted melon with excellent shelf life (more than 10 days) and a sweet taste (13% Brix).
The plant is vigorous and fairly tolerant to Gemini Virus. The fruit is round with a tightly netted skin, green in color and turns yellowish when ripe. Harvest period is 70 days after planting (DAP).
Tolerant to leaf blight. Fruit weight ranges from 1.5 to 2.5 kg per fruit, with a yield potential of 40–50 tons per hectare.
Planting Tips:
To prevent viral attacks, regularly spray insecticides and apply auxin-based plant growth regulators (PGR) at 21 DAP, with repeat applications every two weeks.
